Cyberian Frontier News
March 2007
Our New Newsletter
One of my personal resolutions for 2007 is to do a better job
communicating with our clients on news and issues related to our
business operations. 2007 promises to be a year filled with exciting
new products, services and web applications. So it is my hope that
we'll be sending out this newsletter near the beginning of each month.
Each edition will include system announcements, current promotion(s),
and details on new services -- like our new Webmail System.
You are receiving this because your address is in our database of
clients and partners. If you do not wish to receive future editions of
our newsletter please forgive the intrusion and use the instructions
at the bottom of this message to unsubscribe. The unsubscription
process is automated and immediate.
Much of our system upgrades in the later part of 2006 were focused on
improving email performance and deploying improved anti-spam
technologies. I'm extremely happy to report that since September 2006
we've seen a 60% drop in the total volume of spam arriving at our
servers. And our new server-based anti-virus scanners have isolated
and deleted hundreds of messages containing viruses. Stopping
messages before they arrive in your inbox offers a valuable layer of
protection and helps make your inbox a safer place to do business.
Next month we're launching a new Email Broadcast Server -- an opt-in
email list management application that can be used for small to large
email lists. (We're testing out the new system with this newsletter.)
And we have several other applications we're planning to support in
2007 including new Content Management Systems, Project Management
Applications, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Tools.
I hope you find our newsletter informative and useful. As always I
welcome and appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.
Kind regards,
Patrick Harris

New Webmail System Online
Webmail Features:
- Supports HTML email & attachments
- Built-in address book & calendar
- Check your quota & change your password
- Better performance for large mailboxes
- Multiple sender identities
- Autoresponders, spell check, and many more features!
Our new webmail system is online and operational. Built with the open
source application OpenWebMail, the new system offers: address
book, personal calendar, file manager, support for html emails, and
better webmail performance than iManager.
To try the new webmail system visit http://email.yourdomain and
click on the link for Webmail. Or you can visit the server
specified in your incoming mail server settings.
(For example:
http://Email2.CyberianFrontier.com/)
Enter your username and password to begin. During your initial login
the Webmail system will ask you to setup your initial preferences. It
is important to update your name and "from address" settings to match
your public email address. Please do not use the default assigned
email address (IE: yourname@Email2.CyberianFrontier.com). Although
that address will work you do not want to publicize that address
because that address bypasses some of the anti-spam systems that help
keep your inbox clean.

New Support Issue Tracking System
In January we began moving our client and support records into our
new CRM (customer relationship management) system. We selected
vTiger, an open source solution, for our CRM needs. We expect that it
will take us until sometime this summer to complete the process of
moving all the data from our various systems into vTiger. Once
completed we'll have all our support, project management, and contact
data centralized in one system. This centralizing of client
information will help us better track support issues and document all
aspects of the projects we manage for our clients.
To help us better track support issues and requests for help please
send your support related messages to
Support@CyberianFrontier.com
or
Submit a Trouble Ticket on our website.
Messages submitted this way will be routed into our trouble ticket
system which helps us better manage your requests. Using one of these
two methods will yield the fastest response to your support issue.
You can also call us if you prefer: 928.337.4950 or 410.510.1132.
Upgrades to Our Solar Power System
In January we purchased 2 more solar panels and increased our daily
energy harvesting capacity by 66%. Our off-grid power system allows
us to run our engineering and support operations 100% off of the
abundant power of the sun.
On average our power system can harvest about 4KWh of electricity a
day. When generated by conventional methods 4KWh of electricity a day
releases 6.4 pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every day.
That's more than 2370 pounds of carbon dioxide every year!
